i got the idea to make this homage, right aft er i read a article about how east wood was going to make a second movie called 'flags of our fathers'. about World War II and Iwo Jima which was written by paul haggis and tells the amerikan side of the story
what struck me deep within is how eastwood specifically wanted to tell the japanese side of the story as well and not just the amerikan side. there for he hired Japanese-American screenwriter Iris Yamashita to write a second movie called 'lamps before the wind' which will be released simultaneously along with flags of our fathers. so to tell both sides of the story the reason for this is because i always thought that the amerikans where acting right AND i still do!. but it is also nice too look from their perspective and see their motivations and reasons instead of just showing one. also i have always been interested in japan perhaps mainly because it is so far away and that it looks so strange and different (to our eyes). also if they dont think we're something evil or something (ok bush that means you now that you had to endure like bout a hundred letter phrase '''pwew'' select media player for clint eastwoods: "the Good the Bad & the Ugly" theme song from 1966 (jeez the guy goes along way doesnt he) which by the way is my fav. select this link to go to "of course" go to the web-site where i first heard bout the clint eastwood movies: [link] and to make it up for all you guys and gals here's a little something i found while snoofing the web during my late visits very much link: [link] |
